Memorial-Chris "Chewy" Snyder

Driemers Studio was honored to design the images
to be applied to  memorial apparel for Chris "Chewy" Snyder.
I did not have to pleasure of meeting the man,
however if the love of his friends is any indication of a well lived life,
 he was rich with blessings.

My Nephew is getting married September 26, 2015;
I made this Unity Set for their Ceremony. It's easy to make something beautiful
when you are able to start with a beautiful design and a beautiful reason.

Love Potion #9 ATC

Scraps of Elegance~Scraps of Darkness had a ATC swap for Halloween.
I had never participated in a swap or made an ATC. Sounded like fun to me.
It was. This turned out to be my favorite one....after a few trail and errors on others.

Halloween Fun

The first step I take is to prep my canvas and most of my pieces.
For this piece that meant cutting a spider web out of adhesive vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo and placing it on my canvas which in which I applied Finnabair Art Basics Heavy Black Gesso.
The spiders, skulls and bats are novelty rings that I cut the band off of and applied white gesso.
The frame was orange so I got black gesso on that right away. I secured the spider web to the canvas with a coat of clear gesso.

This hologram picture was the inspiration for this entire piece.
 Just some fun for halloween.

All the goodies are nice and secure with Art Basics modeling paste.
Once dry paint it all with heavy black gesso....FUN!

My final colors are a combination of Finnabair Art Basics Mica powders in Rust and Purple and Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays in Red hot Poker Orange, Screaming Banshee Black and Witch's Potion Purple, really these are the names of the sprays...lol
I wanted my spider web to be more intense so I trace it with a VersaMarker then embossed with Lindy's Midnight Violet.

The final touches of Antique Gold Rub and Buff on the frame and the skulls, purple, orange and black glitter and a touch of black micro beads and this piece is ready for a haunting.
(I have since toned down the gold with a dry brush of black gesso)
